I’ve been writing books that celebrate the power of the female body for a decade. Running through each of them is the same message: your body is strong, capable, amazing.

First published in 2017 and revised and updated in 2023 with a new foreword by Ella Mills, The Positive Birth Book has been the UK’s best-loved pregnancy guide for nearly a decade. It’s sold over 100k copies and been voted Best Pregnancy Book by both the Evening Standard and Mumsnet. The ethos of the book is to support all women and all choices, with clear information on how to have a positive birth in every setting from at home to the operating theatre.

Give Birth like a Feminist

Published in 2019 by Harper Collins, Give Birth like a Feminist explores the politics and history of childbirth and asks why this female life experience is one in which we are encouraged to hand over our authority to others. Voted one of the ten best books for expectant parents by the Independent, Give Birth like a Feminist has sold nearly 50 thousand copies and been translated into Dutch, German, Czech and Ukranian.

This puberty guide for girls aged around 9 to 12 was published by Hachette in 2021 and has been loved by mums as well as their daughters. Brilliantly illustrated it covers every single aspect of starting your period from charting your cycle to choosing products to how to wash your own sheets. Filled with positivity this book aims to help girls feel brimming with knowledge and confidence about their brilliant bodies.

Ultra Processed Women

Published in 2025 this book takes the existing and vital discussion about ultra processed food (UPF) and asks: but what about women? What are the specific impacts on the female body of our modern diet? This book illustrates that UPF affects women’s health in specific and troubling ways. But this is not just a book about food: it exposes how the UPF industry specifically exploits women, and asks if changing our diets may in fact be an act of resistance to an ultra processed world.

My most recent book, The Body Myth came out with Harper Collins in the summer of 2026. This book explores the many stories women are told about their bodies and replaces them with a new narrative: we are strong, powerful and utterly fit for purpose. Being female is not the short straw - it’s something to celebrate. The Body Myth travels through life in the female body from menarche to menopause and beyond, and will change the way you think and feel about being a woman.
